The veterinarians at Pet Medical Center Sunland are skilled at performing dog and cat surgery for elective and emergency procedures. Our caring and compassionate staff closely monitors your pet during the procedure while providing the most up-to-date anesthesia and IV support tailored to your animal’s specific needs. Our surgical suite meets all veterinary board standards, and our pet recovery ward is in the center of our work station so we can keep a close eye on your dog or cat at all times. Prior to your pet’s surgery, we ask that you complete our surgery consent form.
Spaying and Neutering
On the day of this routine surgery, our staff checks your pet in at 8:45 a.m. We monitor your animal throughout the procedure, giving your puppy or kitten the best anesthesia and IV support possible. You then take your dog or cat home between 4 and 5 p.m. with your pet’s tailored-made pain medications and instructions on recovery care.
Microchip Identification Implant
During this simple microchipping procedure, your dog or cat remains awake as our veterinarians inject the sterile implant under your pet’s skin. You can even stay in the room with your animal if you desire. We use InfoPET Microchips and provide you with the information you need to register your pet once the microchip is in place.
Other Surgeries
Pet Medical Center Sunland’s veterinarians and staff also perform laceration repairs, fox tail removals, wound care and repair, lumpectomies, biopsies, ear hematomas, and dental extractions.
Pain Management
Keeping your dog or cat comfortable during and after surgery ensures a healthy recovery. Our veterinarians and staff prescribe pain medication custom suited for your pet.
